Last few days, I’m looking for a way on how to show image thumbnail in the excerpt post. This is for my new affiliate site project powered by WordPress. I’m using normal WordPress theme where the archive page is using the excerpt function to avoid duplicate content and being penalized by search engine. As I’m not good in using custom field function, I’m trying to look on others possible way.
Luckily, I stumbled this site that just released the new plugin a few days ago to show thumbnail in excerpt post. Basically this thumbnail for excerpts plugin works by display the first picture in our post beside the excerpt post with scaled.
The installation is super easy, I just upload the plugin folder to the plugin directory in my server and activate the plugin. So far it work great. Additionally if you’re good in php, you can also modify the thumbnail scale, allignment through the php file.
