I just update all my WordPress blog to the latest version (version 2.7).  As normal I manually update them by replacing all the required files with the latest one. It should be very easy.

Before this I’ve been used WordPress Automatic Update plugin, and since it always give me some errors than I switched back to use the conventional way to do upgrade.

Basically for me, the major changes is on the admin area appearance where I’ve to take some times to go through all the functions and make me familiar with the location of all the links.

One new thing I just realized is the ability to install a new pulgin just from the admin area where we not required to upload the plugin folder using ftp or cpanel file manager. Anyway I still not try it yet.

Auto update plugin function is not a new feature anyway, but I’ve tried it and still found error as usual. Only a few plugin able to be automatically upgrade but required to temporary change “wp-content” forlder permission to “777″.

So far, I think it’s a great update from the wordpress developer team. Thanks to them . If you still not upgrade yet your WordPress blog to latest version, then do it now!

Normally I like to buy domain name from Namecheap.com because of their affordable price, coupon code, user friendly control panel, ability to buy by Paypal, and free whois guard for first year on new domain name registration. Beside that, sometimes I also bought domain name from Godaddy.com .

I just got newsletter email from Namecheap a few days ago about they will increase their domain name price by next month. Below is the some quote from that newsletter.

So if you want to buy a bulk of domain, better to buy it now to get some saving on your money. As for me, maybe I’ll buy just 2 or 3 more domain before end of this month. Most probably for my new projects.

Last few days, I’m looking for a way on how to show image thumbnail in the excerpt post. This is for my new affiliate site project powered by WordPress. I’m using normal WordPress theme where the archive page is using the excerpt function to avoid duplicate content and being penalized by search engine. After 2 days been off line, this morning I notice there is PR update by google. From the Google tool bar, this blog already went down from PR3 to PR2. Seems I’ve to actively posting more content and try to get more back link

In general PR updated 4 times a year. Apparently almost all webmaster waiting to the PR update. I think this is because the more higher PR will give better in SERP (search engine ranking position) just my guess. PR also shown the value of your website. Almost all authority web site own high PR.

Google always updated and improve their algorithm on how they determine the PR value. So as web master, we can just guess what’s their rough algorithm but we can’t make sure its. So, I think no need to depend on PR, just develop our web site as good as we can!

I just installed this useful plugin to this blog and seems very easy to install. Its not take more than 5 minutes for me to install and the best thing its FREE .

What you need to do is only;

1. Download and install the Google Sitemap Generator plugin from Arne Barchhold.
2. Just follow the setup instructions. Once installed, you can leave the default configuration for this plugin as it is if you want. Don’t forget to click the “Rebuild Sitemap” button (Options > Sitemap) to create your sitemap for the first time. If encounter any errors, you can easily click learn more and get the info from the developer site.
3. Sign in to Google Sitemaps with you Google Account. You’ll need to create a Google Account if you haven’t done it already.
4. When inside your Sitemap account, click on the “Add” tab and select the “General Web Sitemap” option and click Next.
